Interesting, Disappointment and Familiarity.

We're back to regular classes after one week of exam. Reporter discusses to us the topic Concept Paper and Elucidating a Concept. It was an interesting topic I must say but I had a hard time understanding the first part of the lesson because my mind was occupied with something else. Thankfully I was back to my senses when the second reporter discuss her part. The way she explained her assigned topic was amazing. It was easy to understand and easy to comprehend. I kinda wish to have that kind of skill but explaining is never really my thing. 

Just like on the next meeting, where we had an activity that made us discuss the different Plagiarism Spectrum. I was disappointed at my performance that time because I feel like I didn't explain the assigned topic well. Despite that disappointment, It was a very interesting topic for me. As a reader, the word Plagiarism is already familiar to me. I was curious to what does Plagiarism mean when I was just a new reader so I search it up. (I only searched the meaning of it and I didn't dig deeper about it.) It was nice knowing that there are different type or spectrum of Plagiarism. Now that I know that, I can avoid plagiarism when I write an essay and a research paper.

Something familiar. Something new.

Academic Text, the first topic introduced in English for Academic Purpose Program (EAPP). The topic was quite familiar but because of my hazy memory it was rather something new. It was easy to understand as it somewhat serves as a recap due to its familiarity. As we go through the topic, I got to learn the different examples of an academic text, such as, the research paper, concept paper, articles and many more. We also learned the nature of academic text and how important it is to know these natures to have the right composition of an academic text. We also got introduced to non- academic text that is way opposite to an academic text. We got to know the different characteristics of non-academic text and academic text that clearly shows the difference between the two. Even with its familiarity it is still a fun topic to learn.
