Interesting, Disappointment and Familiarity.

We're back to regular classes after one week of exam. Reporter discusses to us the topic Concept Paper and Elucidating a Concept. It was an interesting topic I must say but I had a hard time understanding the first part of the lesson because my mind was occupied with something else. Thankfully I was back to my senses when the second reporter discuss her part. The way she explained her assigned topic was amazing. It was easy to understand and easy to comprehend. Thesis statement vs topic sentence

The difference between thesis statement and topic sentence can be identified through the questions where, what and why. Where is it located? What's in it? Why is it written?   Firstly, thesis statement is located at the last sentence of the introductory paragraph while topic sentence is located at the first sentence of the body paragraph . Secondly, thesis statement is the most important part of an essay and it has three parts— the topic, the authors opinion and the reason. On the other hand, topic sentence is the most important part of a paragraph and has two part— the topic and the controlling idea. Lastly, thesis statement  is written to let the readers knows about your opinion or argument about a certain topic and how you will support it with evidence and example while topic sentence   informs reader about the focus of the paragraph.

We got to know the different characteristics of non-academic text and academic text that clearly shows the difference between the two. Even with its familiarity it is still a fun topic to learn. I got to refresh my mind with some known terms.  I was thrilled at the way we differentiate the different academic words to normal words. It sent me back to ...
